Cornelis Vrolijk publishes CSR Report 2022

Ready for the future together

In this CSR Report 2022, we look back on the results of our sustainability efforts within our family of companies.

For the past 10 years, Cornelis Vrolijk has been developing a policy to operate as sustainably as possible. In the past two years, we have taken the first steps towards a company-wide, integrated approach and reporting.

In 2022, we further refined our sustainability strategy and defined seven core themes: Care for People, Emissions on Land, Emissions at Sea, Supply Chain Responsiblilty, Healthy & Nutritious Seafood, Marine Environment and Circulair Materials. In this report, you will read about the actions we have taken in each of these areas and the results we have achieved so far. We would like to highlight three great examples. For example, the sustainable renovation of three of our cold stores in IJmuiden, equipped with more than 5,100 solar panels, has earned us a BREEAM 5-star certificate. Our ongoing contribution to scientific research is providing more and more data on the stocks of squid, red mullet and gurnard in the North Sea. Thirdly, internally, we took another big step towards safe and pleasant working conditions with the organisation of another safety day. We are proud to have achieved this company-wide, with all its challenges

We want this report to give a realistic and positive impression of our company and our sector, and we expect it to contribute to a positive image of our social contribution as a food supplier to many people around the world.
