For over 140 years, we have supplied healthy and sustainable fish all around the globe. Started out as a local connoisseur, we have grown into a world player.
We catch, farm and process a variety of fish and shrimp. For several products, we control the entire chain from ‘ship to shelf’. That means that we know exactly what happens to the fish from the time it is caught until the moment it is in the store. It makes us flexible to adjust where necessary and helps us meet the expectations of the consumer by supplying a quality product. Sustainably caught from a known origin. That tastes a lot better.
Trade of fish and shrimp
The catching and selling of pelagic fish, like herring and mackerel, is one of our core activities. We freeze the fish on board immediately after catching and after storage in our own cold stores, a large part is destined for export. In addition to the export, we supply our pelagic fish through our own processing and trading companies in the Netherlands. In Europe, we supply retail businesses, wholesale traders and fish retailers. A pleasant thought, that in this way we provide consumers worldwide with the best tasting fish.
In addition to pelagic fish, we also catch demersal fish species, like sole and plaice. This fish is landed fresh on ice and sold through the fish auction. Part of this fish is processed by our own processing companies. In addition, we catch, farm and process shrimp within our family of businesses as well. This independence and self-supplying chain enables us to deliver the best quality.
Fish is healthy
Fish contains many vitamins and minerals, proteins and healthy fats. Oily fish, like mackerel and herring, also contains omega-3 fatty acids. These substances improve blood cholesterol levels, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease. But there are more positive effects, many of which are not so well known.
Responsible origin
Supplying high-quality reliable products is very important to us. As we know what happens to the fish in every phase of the food supply chain, we can adjust in good time where necessary. That way, we ensure integrity and reliability of our products. The traceability of our products not only makes us feel good, but our customers as well.
